Feast with Fine Young Cannibals
LAST time Roland Gift appeared on the Fringe, it wasn't exactly a blast. He played Romeo in Hull Truck's Romeo and Juliet but the feuding Veronese were nothing on the cast's squabbles.
This time round, things should be more laid back, as Gift returns to what he is still best known for, his singing.
In the past year he has put together a new band, after the slow demise of his successful Eighties combo, Fine Young Cannibals. "We had run our course a long time before we actually did break up," says Gift. "Some people are known as a couple and stick together because that's how the world sees them, but they might not necessarily be the best people for each other… It was a bit like that."
Gift promises songs "in the vein of FYC" and some old favourites.
